Sharla has started a Truth Tuesday link up on her blog. It’s has me thinking about what types of things I “hide” or try to mask in some way. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m generally a “what you see is what you get” type of person. BUT, as most women, when it comes to my home, I like it to be somewhat clean, or at the very least tidy when guests come over. There are very few people in my life that can come visit me without me having a bit of a tidy-attack.
For instance, this is me taking pictures of our kitchen renovation….
This is what it looked like behind me! I moved most of the items of my counter top so that I could take a tidy picture. Which is fine…I really wanted a photo that showed off Darren’s hard work, not my mess – but this is the ugly truth, dear friends.
I once had a friend who didn’t clean before I came to visit. I’m not even sure if she bothered to tidy up.
And I loved going to her house because it made mine feel normal.
And it made me feel like it didn’t matter if she came to my home and it wasn’t perfect… and I never felt like it was an imposition to have me over because it really didn’t change her day in terms of scrambling around tidying up. She just enjoyed our time together.
I’d like to be more like that.
